Overview

We are currently looking for a volunteer to lead our Family Ministry. 

We honour the foundation of families in practicing our faith and have therefore committed a Ministry to support families including seniors, parents, single parents, and youth. The leader of the Family Ministry will therefore overlook programs, initiatives and activities for them. This position reports to the Chair of the Parish Council.

As per Archdiocesan policy all volunteers are subject to a police record check  including a Vulnerable Sector search for all volunteers working in high risk roles with minors and vulnerable adults.  

  •  Tenure: Must commit to serve for a two-year term which can be extended for another year on approval of the pastor. Maximum term is four years.
  • Succession planning: Identify, train and mentor successor to this role.
  • Recruit leaders to overlook sub-ministries for seniors, parents, single parents, youth (Gr. 8 – 18 years), etc. Provide clear expectations for their roles. Train and support all leaders and volunteers to help them execute their duties as expected. 
  • Connect and maintain relationship with related ministries at the Archdiocese of Vancouver. Stay abreast of related programs and communicate them to the Parish Council to ensure compliance with the Archdiocese.
  • Create and support a rich variety of activities, events, programs etc. to engage our parish’s families, in collaboration with the Parish Engagement, Wellness and Support Ministry. Create equitable opportunities to engage their ethnic and cultural diversity, physical ability, interests, skills and needs
  • Be accountable for all programs conducted by this ministry/office
  • Manage a roster of volunteers to support activities and requirements of ministry/office
  • Quarterly reporting to the Parish Council on all activities 
  • Practice inclusion with respect, embracing diversity of our parishioners’ ethnic origins, cultures, perspectives, etc. and provide equitable opportunities for all parishioners to participate and engage in assigned ministry/office.
  • Oversee and deliver on additional duties assigned by the pastor, as needed to continue the work of the Parish Council
  • Serve with integrity to uphold the responsibilities of the ministry/office, the parish, and our Catholic Faith.
