The Lector Ministry calls for volunteers to grow in a warm and loving knowledge of Scripture, which is the living Word of God. Lectors proclaim the Word of God at Mass and other liturgical services. They are encouraged to read scripture in a clear and meaningful way so that everyone can hear and understand what is being said.
The Word of God in the Sacred Scriptures lies at the heart of our Christian life and is integral to every liturgical celebration. The Reader proclaims the Word in the liturgical assembly, becoming the voice of the Spirit speaking to the worshiping community.
Lectors are needed for Sunday Mass as well as our Daily Chapel Mass.
