Our PREP Epiphany Celebration last Tuesday, Jan 9th was a big success! Children, parents & catechists gathered in front of the crèche to immerse themselves into the Epiphany gospel story. 3 Wise Men (students), led a procession to the manger, followed by each student who offered their own gifts to Jesus. We included prayers for peace, following Pope Francis' call to "go to the crib" this Christmas, and "Ask Jesus for peace in the world.". Thank you to our gr 2 catechist Miss Maria, for making beautiful star cookies for all to enjoy.

The goal of PREP is to assist parents in the religious education for children attending Public School, private non-Catholic School, and Home-School (Kindergarten – Grade 7). PREP is a 7-year religious education program designed to run parallel to a child’s elementary school education.
An important component of this program is to help prepare children for the Sacraments of 1st Reconciliation, 1st Holy Communion and Confirmation.
1st Reconciliation was celebrated in December. Gr 2 students are now preparing for 1st Communion and Gr 7 are preparing for Confirmation in class, at home, and through retreats. Parents are supported in their role as primary teachers of the Faith through a series of parent meetings.
We have a wonderful team of trained volunteer Catechists and Assistants leading weekly PREP classes.
