Elementary school aged children attending public, private or home school are invited to join our weekly catechism classes - Tuesday evenings from 6:15 - 7:30pm in the school, from September to May.

The goal of PREP is to assist parents in the religious education of their children. PREP is a 7-year program designed to run parallel to a child’s elementary school education. 

An important component of this program is to help prepare children for the Sacraments of 1st Reconciliation, 1st Holy Communion and Confirmation. Parents are supported in their role as primary teachers of the Faith through a series of parent meetings.

1st Reconciliation is celebrated in December. First Communion and Confirmation are celebrated in the Spring. 

We have a wonderful team of trained volunteer Catechists and Assistants leading weekly PREP classes. If you are a practising parishioner with a heart for sharing the Gospel with children, and you interested in volunteering  at PREP please contact us.

We are thrilled to announce and welcome Ruby Fernández as our new Parish Religious Education Program (PREP) Coordinator! 


Ruby brings a deep love for the faith and her experience as a catechist in Mexico for 5 years and then as a catechist in our Gr 5 & Gr 6 PREP classes here at Sacred Heart for the past three years. 


Ruby has ten years experience working in education, with the last three here at our school.

Please submit your completed form via email to: prep@shsdelta.org. 


We offer 3 methods of payment: 

  1.   E-transfer to our Parish email: sacredheartparish@shsdelta.org Please include the following in the notes/message: PREP registration for [include child's full name] 
  2.  Drop-off cash or cheque in the Parish office outside secure mailbox or church collection basket during Mass.
  3.  Mail a cheque to the Parish office - please be sure to include our PO Box 10 if sending by mail.
