The voice of the Lord,
Heard by the prophets,
Led them to obey God,
With the purity of hearts.
It led them to the path,
Where they found life,
Including God’s truth,
As they knelt to worship.
God’s voice in prayer,
Drives temptations away,
It even suppresses anger,
Including pride and envy.
Jesus himself prayed,
Hearing the Father’s voice,
To which he submitted,
In his holiness we rejoice.
